Caroline M. Sun is a painter of animals living in Queens, New York. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, her paintings are intuitive and expressionistic with an emphasis on vibrant color, voluptuous line, and graphic impact. Inspired by animal tales and nature documentaries from an early age, her work demonstrates a wide-ranging interest in the natural world. Ms Sun has taken art courses at The School of Visual Arts, Great Neck Arts Center, and Women’s Studio Center. She is currently a member of the Asian American Arts Alliance, The Art Guild (Port Washington), Artists’ Objective, Flushing Council on Culture and the Arts, Flushing Jewish Cultural Committee, LIC Artists Inc., and Queens Council on the Arts. She has shown work at the Alliance of Queens Artists, Art-O-Mat, Bayside Historical Society, Citi Court Square Atrium, Elderfields Preserve, Flushing Town Hall, Great Neck Arts Center, Joseph P. Addabbo Federal Building, Juvenal Reis Studios Experimental Space, Life Space, and Women’s Studio Center. Her work is in private collections in New York City, Washington, D.C., Savannah, Georgia, and London, United Kingdom.
